Did you ever notice how we have a tendency to struggle with trusting God with major decisions in life? We fret. We stew. We jabber to everyone about everything, trying to discern what we should do. We spend hours mulling things over in our mind, often with the results of sleepless nights & self-absorbed conversations. This propensity to try figure things out, for ourselves, happens before we recognize it & comes as naturally as breathing. God says, in His Word, that we are not capable of knowing what’s best for us. “I know O Lord, that a man’s way is not in himself, nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps.” (Jeremiah 10:23) I think we struggle to trust Him with the big things because we don’t seek Him about the little things in our daily lives. Does God care about what car you buy…those clothes you found on sale…that parking space…speaking to you through His Word… hearing His voice in prayer…quieting your troubled soul…giving you physical strength to complete your work…or your obedience in daily living???

“I will cry to God Most High, to God who accomplishes ALL things for me.” (Psalm 57:2) This ALL encompasses everything, every detail that touches your life. He is concerned with every “jot & tittle” affecting you today. “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Thy lovingkindness O Lord, is everlasting. Do not forsake the works of Thy hands.” (Psalm 138:8) What concerns do you have today? Bring them to Him one by one as they happen & watch Him work! Jeremiah knew this, David knew this, & Luke, the New Testament physician, knew this. In Luke 16, verse 10, he refers to faithfulness in little things as a prerequisite to being entrusted with much. Isn’t it just possible that we don’t trust God with the bigger questions in life because we don’t take the time to hear His leading in the small stuff? Like that car…those clothes…the parking space…heart healing…or the work you face. The FACT that God is faithful, & into details, screams at us every day. We just need to notice!

“Sow with a view to righteousness, reap in accordance with kindness; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek t he Lord until He comes to rain righteousness on you. You have plowed wickedness, you have reaped injustice, you have eaten the fruit of lies. Because you have trusted in your way, in your numerous warriors.” (Hosea 10:12&13)
