Dr. Charles r. Solomon

It gives me great pleasure to commend my son in the faith, Dr. Stephen Phinney for his burden and vision to proliferate the message of the cross, Christ-as-Life or the crucified life, globally via media & material development.  The need is great, and the hour is late as he faithfully builds on the foundation in scripture laid half a century ago.

I pray that those who receive this message will multiply it to God's glory that the Church may be edified through transformed lives of indwelt believers, as he and I walk together in obedience to our Father.

Identity Matters Productions is an outreach of IOM America. It is with great honor to present a legacy video of Dr. Charles R. Solomon, spiritual father to Dr. Stephen Phinney.

“I have no words to adequately describe my thanksgiving for GFI & Dr. Charles Solomon. Back in 1979 when I was introduced to him, my life was like a performance-based train headed for disaster. Upon arriving in Denver to attend their internship program, I was being suffocated by a hidden lie – I was functionally illiterate. So much so, my wife had to read most of The Handbook to Happiness aloud in order for me to understand its content. As she would read, I would draw pictures. Little did I realize at the time, GFI’s training and personal discipleship would set the course of my life and ministry, which is primarily based on creating visuals to communicate Christ-in-you.

Through the years others have asked me, “What drew you to Dr. Solomon’s ministry?” I would’ve liked to say it was the Exchanged Life principles, but that would be a lie. Honestly, it was the pictorials God gave him through the modality of diagrams, which led me to the interpersonal discovery of ‘Not I, but Christ.’ Since I was dependent on pictures to understand, due to my inability to read, I adopted a habit of learning by way of visuals. While some found his diagrams complex, I immediately saw the deeper Truths revealed in his method of addressing madness. I became ‘hooked.’

As a result of 40+ years of personal guidance, mentorship & friendship with Dr. Solomon, I discovered a hidden passion – writing. Even though it was annoying to have my literary endeavors corrected by him regularly, even to this day, I suffered my way through self-rejection and found the true writer – Christ in me. When I started my writing under his care, I had 15 online readers. Today, we reach 1.7 million inboxes per year. Reaching hundreds of thousands of thirsty readers. Not to sound disputatious, Dr. Solomon is certain to refute, but on a human level, I give the credit where credit is due. To my beloved spiritual father. After working with men of God throughout this generation, this man, without question, is the most faithful, and honorable man of faith I know. I consider him to be one of our greatest leaders in church history. When our Lord takes him home to join the other legacy leaders, I will grieve grief my soul cannot bear. This man, sitting in our presence, will be remembered for igniting one of the primary movements of all generations – the believer’s identity in Christ Jesus. We are not only honoring Dr. Solomon, and the ministry birthed under his burden, but we are honoring the living God. When he gave us this man, He gave us a piece of His own Life.” – Dr. Stephen R. Phinney

Identity Matters Productions in partnership with Grace Fellowship International presents the inspirational video "The Wheel and Line."  This video is a summary of the message of identification with Christ, based on the diagrams and counsel of Handbook to Happiness by Dr. Charles Solomon.

FOUNDER | Dr. Charles R. Solomon

Grace Fellowship International was incorporated May 29, 1969 for the purpose of implementing a new approach to spiritual counseling based on God’s call on the life of Charles Solomon in November, 1967. From the beginning it was a worldwide vision, which God has brought to pass in the ensuing third of a century.

The doors of GFI opened full time as a faith ministry February 1, 1970, and the Holy Spirit began to transform lives in the counseling setting. Two years later, in August 1972, the first staff member was added and the first remote office was opened in Missouri in 1975. The first international work was established in Argentina in 1981 and now there are representatives on six continents and many countries.

Dr. Solomon’s first and best selling book, Handbook to Happiness, has sold over 300,000 copies in English, Spanish, Korean, Romanian, and Russian. Chapter 2 has been condensed into tract form and is included on this site in more than 40 languages under the title, The Wheel and Line. Dr. Solomon has subsequently written ten more books and along with many articles and poems.

There have been many spin-off ministries since GFI began in 1970–both stand alone ministries and faithful pastors who are teaching the message of our identification with Christ in His death and resurrection. A number of ministries have also begun in various parts of the world.

The Wheel & Line summarizes key lessons about the three parts of man and the “life out of death” principle from Dr. Charles Solomon’s book Handbook to Happiness. To gain a fuller understanding of these concepts, we invite you to order the book online.

When we receive Christ by faith, it means that His death on the cross counts as payment for our sins. But it means much more. It also means that we enter into a new life-one that extends forever into the past as well as into the future. To put it another way, we exchange our history in Adam-the bad and the good-for an eternal history in Christ. We inherit a new “family tree!”By becoming partakers of Christ’s life, we become participants in His death, burial, resurrection, ascension and seating in the heavenlies (Rom. 6:3-6;Gal. 2:20Eph. 2:6)

This is not just another “Christian psychology” book. The author, in departing from traditional psychological approaches, leads distressed people directly to the Cross of Christ – not just for the eternal life Jesus promised, but for the abundant life, here and now. Dr. Solomon calls his approach “Spirituotherapy”, a biblically based program that draws on the Holy Spirit’s work of regeneration and the appropriation of the new life in Christ available to us.
