Strong Waters
The Hebrew word for woman/mother is "Alef Mem", which means strong water. Hebrew stories of old described "women as being dependable as strong water in a desert." Around this water, a river or pool, an oasis of life is formed. In the same way that water transforms a desert into an oasis; a woman/mother is the giver of life to others. IOM purposed to use this definition for the name of their women's ministries to communicate their mission for all interested women. This ministry desires to equip women in their full calling and role as women.
Titus chapter two guides us into understanding the primary role of the woman. Women of maturity must be women who instruct the younger. They must have behavior that compliments Holiness: both men and women must accommodate their behavior to their calling. The virtues stated in this passage are not required of men only, but applicable to both sexes. Women are to hear and learn their duty from the Word, which is imparted to them by the written Word, their husbands, as well as church leadership. Therefore the ministry of Strong Waters is committed to "sticking to the Word" in their efforts to ministering to others.
Strong Waters accomplish this mission by serving women through Bible studies, counseling/discipleship and training. We endeavor to reveal God's best in applying Biblical truths that apply to the heart of woman.
