The Institute of Ministry
On behalf of the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers, we want to introduce you to the new, and revised, IOM AMERICA. It is our desire to serve the community with a Christ-centered nonprofit that stays focused on building and equipping the body of Christ to do the work of service for His Kingdom.
We have refined our vision, mission and purpose statement. Our most significant revision is in regard to the ministry's financial beliefs and eternal investment policies. Some of the details can be reviewed within this newsletter. Please take the time to read these articles. It will give you insight into the heart of IOM.
WHY THE CHANGES
We have been in prayer for the direction and focus of this organization for the better part of a year now. After many hours of prayer, counsel and re-organizational meetings, we are ready to return to the original vision God has placed upon our hearts.
Almost 25 years ago, God put it on Steve and Jane's hearts to be part of a ministry dedicated to assisting the body of Christ to live out the exchanged-life, that of Christ living His life in and through the believer. The original plan was to provide these services through Biblically-based counseling/discipleship, conferences, training and materials development. Therefore, we purpose to re-establish our calling with a more refined and focused effort.
The second point of renewal is that of providing our services FREE of charge. From this day forward, it is our desire and intent to provide all of our services through a "suggested donation" type of financial structure (see details enclosed). We are no longer interested in using a fee-based structure for our counseling, conference, training and materials. We endeavor to financially depend upon God to move the hearts of potential donors in supporting His work.
In the future, we will no longer make "desperate pleas" for financial help. Each of our newsletters will contain a "statement of needs" in order to notify our supporting members of giving options. We will trust the Lord to provide through whomever, or however, He deems appropriate.
We are excited about our renewed focus and hope you will be as well. Our commitment to provide a Christ-centered ministry to the community is bathed in prayer. Your support for IOM through your prayers, financial commitment and friendship is deeply appreciated. You can learn more about these changes by logging onto our new website.
May your New Year be filled with love, acceptance and forgiveness—IOM AMERICA
Blessings,
Steve Phinney
